The original MacBook Pro 1,1 and MacBook Pro 2,2 did not come with FireWire 800 or S-Video ports, but FireWire 800 was added in the first revision. The 2.33 GHz configuration of MacBook Pro 2,2 was optional at the time of its launch. Apple used to define the new version as MacBook Pro 2,2. In October 2006, Apple enhanced the existing model, making 2.16 GHz a standard configuration and adding 2.33 as an optional version (BTO, short for By The Order). At the same date, the computer was made available with a glossy screen as a BTO option. Though Apple announced the 1st generation of its MacBook Pro line (MacBook Pro 1,1) at 1.67 and 1.83 GHz, this mode was actually shipped with 1.83 or 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processors, with a 2.16 GHz processor available as a BTO option.Īpple speed-bumped both configurations in May 2006 to 2.0 GHz and 2.16 GHz, respectively (without changing models’ classification).
